I got a couple of emails from my gmail account. (I totally forgot about my yahoo email already)
Good news: my most awaited event this coming weekend…*yipee!*
Bad news: OFW life in Dubai. *sad*
I immediately forgot about the good news whilst reading the 2nd email I received. It’s about the true picture of life in Dubai. Most of you might have received this email that has been circulating for some time now.
During the 80’s if I’m not mistaken, Saudi was very popular among the Filipinos. Most of the people in search for greener pastures usually go to Saudi. Two decades after, Dubai is the new Saudi. Over a thousand Filipinos arrive in Dubai every month. Why not?
Literally, the sun shines here all year round. Prosperity is in the air. It’s a place where people have reasons to dream of waking up in the morning as millionaires or with kilos of gold on their lap!
But there’s more to that daw. Hmmm, curtain and styrofoam stories…I don’t want to elaborate as I find this story distressing. Awwww….=( Wait for the said email in your inbox instead. *sorry*
I just wish our fellow countrymen in Dubai would be able to have better lives as what they have hoped and wished before leaving Philippines.
I have a FA friend who used to work for PAL and now she’s with Emirates. I feel hers is a different case as she’s been touring around Europe. (Nice pictures by the way! ) *drool*
I just hope this picture of Dubai is false. I find it a bit similar to Milan stories. Oh, seriously I wish every single Filipino in Dubai well.
Lesson learned: Count your blessings.
