Count your Blessings!

I got a couple of emails from my gmail account. (I totally forgot about my yahoo email already)

Good news: my most awaited event this coming weekend…*yipee!*

Bad news: OFW life in Dubai. *sad*

I immediately forgot about the good news whilst reading the 2nd email I received. It’s about the true picture of life in Dubai. Most of you might have received this email that has been circulating for some time now.

During the 80’s if I’m not mistaken, Saudi was very popular among the Filipinos. Most of the people in search for greener pastures usually go to Saudi. Two decades after, Dubai is the new Saudi. Over a thousand Filipinos arrive in Dubai every month. Why not?

Literally, the sun shines here all year round. Prosperity is in the air. It’s a place where people have reasons to dream of waking up in the morning as millionaires or with kilos of gold on their lap!

But there’s more to that daw. Hmmm, curtain and styrofoam stories…I don’t want to elaborate as I find this story distressing. Awwww….=( Wait for the said email in your inbox instead. *sorry*

I just wish our fellow countrymen in Dubai would be able to have better lives as what they have hoped and wished before leaving Philippines.

I have a FA friend who used to work for PAL and now she’s with Emirates. I feel hers is a different case as she’s been touring around Europe. (Nice pictures by the way! ) *drool*

I just hope this picture of Dubai is false. I find it a bit similar to Milan stories. Oh, seriously I wish every single Filipino in Dubai well.

Lesson learned: Count your blessings.

Morning Blog

Good morning people! Whoa! It’s too early for me to blog huh? Very surprising eh? *heehee*

My alarm beeped at 730am and I immediately browsed on my calendar to see how would my day be. I have several meetings today and I don’t think I’d still have time to go to the office. It’s holiday tomorrow and I feel like it’s Friday.

I usually set my alarm 730am on weekdays for me to have enough time to ready myself in going to the office. Oh dear, I normally spend 30 minutes in the shower and an hour to dress up, do my hair and make up (enough to look corporate hahaha!) So more or less, 2 hours to do everything before leaving the house is more than enough for me. However, there are still instances that I get late! *boohoo!* Yeah, it’s takes about 15 minutes to be able to get out of this village (so there are times I take my coffee inside the car) and more time wasted on the road hello? Traffic! *hahaha*

Do your math. Yep, I normally get to the office 10am, an hour late. But it’s alright. We can go to the office anytime and even work at home. *beams* That’s what I love with American companies. *wink*

Hmmm, I better get going now and hit the shower. Today will be a long day for me...

P.S. I thought of making a Poll on my blog again after sometime. Check it out! (upper LEFT hand corner of this page)

P.P.S. To my brothers, RJ and Troy HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!

A Month After

I can’t believe one month has passed already since our wedding, since we tied the knot, since we exchanged our “I DOs”.

It feels like only yesterday. *smiles*

It’s been a month now hearing the same question over and over. “Kamusta ang bagong kasal?” (How’s the married life?) Among the many questions being thrown at us. *beams* It’s so nice to know a lot of people really care.

We have a number of plans and we need to prioritize. We’ll for one is to find a place for us to stay that we can call “our home”. We both can’t wait to find one soonest possible time. HubBEE being meticulous, has some decisive factors to consider reason why we haven’t found any particular place yet. I’m fine with anything but I have one condition though, I don’t want to be passing IPI anymore goodness gravy! Traffic is mind blowing! *hahaha*

I don’t want to preempt things so I better hold my horses now. *teehee* This year would definitely be exciting for all of us! *wink*

Thank God for all the blessings coming our way.

Oh by the way, I’m loving my hubBEE more and more each day! *wink* It’s really unexplainably happy to be with someone made for you. Oh dear, I’m getting chessy na! *hahaha*

Uh-oh, it’s past my bedtime already…Goodnight peeps!

My Weekend

I always look forward on weekends for a number of reasons.

  • Weekends are the best time to relax and pamper myself – do my nails, go to the salon or have my regular spa.
  • To go to the mall for shopping and dining.
  • See a nice movie or read good book.
  • Bond with friends on a Saturday night till dawn.
  • Go out of town (Subic at times) for a swim or a kart.

Most importantly, go to my hometown to see my family and play with niece and nephew. Enjoy the peace and quiet farm that Xave and myself put up.

This is my life and I’m loving it! ☺☺☺

I’m off to Bataan in a few hours. Enjoy your weekend people! *smiles*

Meredith Grey

(1) Too often, the thing you want most is the one thing you can’t have. DESIRE leaves us HEARTBROKEN, it wears us out. Desire can wreck your life. And as tough as wanting something can be, the people who suffer the most are those who DON’T KNOW WHAT THEY WANT. -Dr. Meredith Grey

(2) The truth is, I don’t know anyone who isn’t haunted by something…or someone. And whether we try to slice the pain away with a scalpel or shove it in the back on the closet, our efforts usually fail. So, the only way we can clean out the cobwebs is to TURN A NEW PAGE…or PUT AN OLD STORY TO REST. Finally, finally to rest. - Dr. Meredith Grey

(3) Love the people who treat you right, forget about the ones who don’t and believe that everything happens for a reason. If you get a chance, take it. If it changes your life, let it. Nobody said it’d be easy, they just promised it would be worth it. - Dr. Meredith Grey

That's why I love Grey! *applause*

You want to be me, but you CAN’T be me. - Dr. Cristina Yang

Did I mention that I like Cristina, too? *hehehe*

Sick

Last night I tried going to bed earlier than usual hoping my heavy feeling would go away. I woke up today still having running nose (read: I’ve consumed a roll of tissue already since last night!) and this feeling of slight drowsiness. Then I remember yesterday, I went to this meeting in Intramuros. I drove myself going there from office with the very hot and humid temparature even with my air-condition on at level 3! There's nothing wrong with my aircon, it's well-maintained. It's just that it's way too hot in Manila now! *waaa*

Surprisingly, it rained when I was about to get out of the car. I don’t know how to carry an umbrella errr…I never carried one since my gradeschool days so I got myself wet by the rain! *sob*

Now, I’m sick. Oh well, Mother Earth is really acting very unusual and I find it so alarming already. Especially after watching Inconvenient Truth by Al Gore last night in HBO. Ding-ding-ding! Alarming!

Now, I have to finish off my cup of coffee and run to the shower to meet up Lizette. We have to go to Medical City for my check up.

Gotta go for now. Later! *wink*

Have a nice day people! ☺ ☺ ☺

Thank You!

The number of emails and messages I got from people who frequent my blog overwhelms me. I haven’t blogged for some time. I’ve been busy with work. I was out of town last weekend, no access to the internet. Our DSL was down for 6 days!

Now, everything is back to normal. *Whew!*

To all my visitors:

Honestly, most of you I do not know. Others just happen to know me through this blog. A handful are my close friends whom I shared this blog link since 2004.

Big thanks to all!

Dark One + iPhone

It’s nice to be away from work for some time. People tend to be extra nice to me. *smiles* I received a wedding greeting card from my Dell Malaysia colleagues with their signatures in it then later in the afternoon a M&M, one of my favorite chocolates! (read: I’m a chocoholic) I love the plain M&Ms but was surprised to see that they have now the dark ones. Or I’m just not that updated. *hahaha*

What I did, I grabbed a couple of packs to nibble tomorrow. It’s wrapped in violet but looks blue in this picture due to the flash effect.

To top it all off, I happen to get hold of an iPhone after waiting for months! I can't wait any longer. *chuckles*

I’m loving it! Wanna share good Apps? Email me. *wink*

HubBEE's Hobby

The few hours of our last night in Singapore was spent in the MRT going to Mustafa to look for a potential DSLR (for Xave). Unsuccessful! Xave was upset. He’s been dying to get a DSLR since last year when we were in Hongkong but failed. *heehee*

Rain was pouring hard the next day, which was our last day in Singapore. Xave was no where to be found and we got a text message that he was in a nearby shop buying a camera! Hahaha! Amae and I hurried to the many shops with our plastic raincoats and looked for him.

Here’s the result: Nikon D60

He is too lazy to read the product manual. I’m twice as lazy! I find DSLRs complex that’s why I’m happy and content with my Canon point and shoot camera. He is off for Bataan with his new toy and thick manual. He promised that when he gets back, he can give us good pictures and uses the features of his camera to the fullest *hahaha* and might even take photography class. Hmm, let’s see after 2 weeks! *wink*

Cruise Trip

I know, I know I haven’t blogged. I was away for exactly 8 days and came back just last night. Xave and I together with his parents, now officially my new Papa and Mama (but still I feel awkward to address them that. Hehe) and sister went on a cruise, our long overdue vacation slash honeymoon. It was a good experience and we all had so much fun!

Here are some random snapshots. View complete pictures in my Multiply account. You have to be in my contacts for you to see my private albums.
